Hello, and welcome to the Osborne Brothers wiki. Basic goals of this website short term is to document events, shows, band members, and album and single releases related to the Osborne Brothers. The hope is to include pre-Osborne Brothers events (such as Bobby's time with the Lonesome Pine Fiddlers or Sonny's time with Bill Monroe) as well as post-Osborne Brothers events (Bobby's band the Rocky Top X-Press and time at the Kentucky School of Bluegrass & Traditional Music or Sonny's Chief and Krako banjos).
Higher (and potentially unobtainable) goals hope to document individual song information such as song writers, the history of venues, or important figures to both the Osborne Brothers.
Why am I doing this? Who am I doing it for? I don't have an answer for the first one besides I am a strong supporter of preserving information and history. The second question: the answer is for me. However. If and when I decide to make this public if even ONE Bluegrass nerd or Brothers nerd finds one shred of information interesting or new to them, it's for them as well.
If I've given you the link to this place I hope you enjoy what you see, and to please be kind as the place currently does not operate exactly as I would wish, and has no where near a complete collection of the base content I wish to include.
